Yes -- assigned means that they are attached to a shortcut key. You can assign up to 20 (I think) tasks to keys.

Is that what "Assigned" actually means - assigned to a shortcut key? I have never assigned any of my tasks to a hotkey and so I always wondered why I had to go two levels deep in the menu to get to them and what "assigned" meant (by whom, to whom or to what). (Screenshot is ME 7.3.11, not the beta)
