Hi everyone,

I need to flip vendor ID numbers from the 001 field to the 035. This is
easy to do using the "Swap field data" tool except that I pick up an extra
character along the way.

Original data:  Field = 001

Modified data:   Field =035
                Indicators = 9\
                Subfield = $a

This results in an 035 field with an extra "a" before the start of the
subfield:

=035  9\a$aASP1000382379/wasm

I have tried flipping these fields several different ways and always get
the extra "a" between \ and $ . Does anyone have experience with swapping
data from a fixed field into a text field? Thanks for any help that anyone
can offer.

Best,

Angela
