I'm a bit confused. A large fraction of AC subject headings are not the same as the equivalent LC subject heading. You can't just slap Juvenile Literature at the end and expect it to be valid LCSH. How are you doing that translation? Don't you have to do manual editing of AC headings to properly convert them to LCSH?

Subject: [MARCEDIT-L] Regex help for a conditional
We use only LCSH headings for our general material, so when we get records that include the LC Children’s Subject Headings, those headings are flipped to LCSH and non-matches theoretically cleaned up. I’m currently using external find and replace files to do the $v transforms. Changing $vFiction to $vJuvenile fiction is easy, but what I’d like to do is change any CSH headings for non-fiction to [LCSH term or string]$vJuvenile literature. In essence, find any :
6XX .1$a… that lacks $vFiction, $vDrama, $vSound recordings, etc.
and append:
$vJuvenile literature.
Could this even be done in the context of regex with external files?
Thanks
Geoffrey
