FWIW, I've been working with files of 250,000 records. I just ran one through MarcBreaker and it took 84 seconds to process. Opening it in MarcEdit took 8 seconds.

I don't have anything larger than 50k, but I have one exactly that size
  and MarcEdit reports that it takes slightly less than 16 seconds to MarcBreak it.
