Subject: Re. Call for Papers 19th Annual International Graduate Student Conference on Transatlantic History

Good Day Distinguished Professors,

Please distribute this Call for Papers for the 19th Annual International Graduate Student Conference on Transatlantic History to your students. The topic this year is, “Subversive Spaces, Subversive Bodies in the Atlantic World,” and will be held at the University of Texas at Arlington October 19-20. We are interested in exploring how the human body, social spaces, and bordered territories can become sites of debate and conflict. We will look to answer the question of who has the power to define who belongs and what power to the un-defined or miss-defined have?

We invite paper and panel submissions that are historical, geographical, anthropological, literary, sociological, digital, and cartographic in nature that fall within the scope of this year’s theme and transatlantic studies from both graduate students and young scholars. Submissions are due May 11.

Thank you,

Brandon Blakeslee

THSO President
