A message for 2019 graduates...
*******
The History and Art History Department
Cordially Invites Graduating History and Art History Students
To Our
Degree Celebration Reception
Friday, May 17th
12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The Bistro, Ground Floor of the Johnson Center
Friday, May 17th is going to be quite a full day of graduation festivities for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences!
CHSS students and their families are encouraged to attend the big University-wide Commencement ceremony at 10am that morning
and then the more intimate CHSS Degree Celebration at 3pm that afternoon.
(The former event is where Doctoral candidates will have their degrees conferred individually by the President and are hooded.
The latter event is where the individual names of all participating graduating students are read as they cross the stage and are congratulated by the dean and department chair before having their pictures taken by a professional photographer.)
We hope you and your family can stop by for a short respite in between the two events where you can enjoy
substantial casual fare and lively conversation, while also allowing us the opportunity to wish you well
before heading over to the EagleBank Arena.
Please note that this invitation extends to all Spring 2019, Summer 2019, and Fall 2019 graduates.
**Please RSVP for our reception by Monday, May 13th by visiting our event page (https://historyarthistory.gmu.edu/events/7526 and clicking the RSVP button.**
Be sure to let us know how many people will be in your group, including yourself.
Details for the degree celebration itself can be found at https://chss.gmu.edu/degreecelebration,
with specific logistics information at https://chss.gmu.edu/degreecelebration/convocation-information-for-students/all.
Students are to line up in Lot A of the EagleBank Arena by 2:00 p.m.
Hope to see you there!
Emily
