Dear all,

One more clarification, sorry. You do not need to limit your requests to $2,000. Ordinarily when putting in a request for these funds, you would list your anticipated expenses for whatever trip(s) you were planning. These are often more than $2000 - the Graduate Committee then decides whether it can support some portion of the trip, and, if so, to what amount.

This year, we will follow the same process (the only difference is that there is likely to be a little more money to go around, and it may be possible to fund non-travel research and professional development expenses) . So please just provide a budget with all of your projected expenses. If you are planning multiple trips or different forms of research support, please just make clear in your budget what costs are for each item.

Many thanks,

Sam

Subject: Reminder, and clarification, about applying for travel funds

Dear All,

Just a reminder that applications for travel funding are due next Tuesday. You will also have received a message from Dr. Platt over the weekend letting you know that there are additional research funds available this year, and asking you to send proposals to use these funds to Dr. Barnes.

We've decided it makes sense to consider all of these applications at once, so please just send all of your requests to me, including the information listed below. If you have already submitted a request to Dr. Barnes, he will forward it to me, so there is no need to resend.

Apologies for the confusion,

best,

Sam
