On behalf of University Dissertation & Thesis Services (UDTS)<http://library.gmu.edu/udts>, I would like to welcome you to the Fall 2021 Semester.
If you are a Master's student writing a thesis* or a Doctoral student writing a dissertation**, it is extremely important that you become familiar with our department and our services. UDTS is here to help you format <http://library.gmu.edu/udts/resources#guidelines> your document correctly and submit the final version of your document and all necessary materials<http://library.gmu.edu/udts/process#step5> to our office on time, in order to ensure that you graduate in your intended semester.
We offer templates<http://library.gmu.edu/udts/resources#templates> to assist you in formatting your document.
In the interest of public health, all of our services (including Format Reviews<https://library.gmu.edu/udts/process#step2> and Final Submissions<https://library.gmu.edu/udts/process#step5>) are conducted virtually. Furthermore:
* We conduct online workshops<https://library.gmu.edu/workshops>: one session explains the process <http://library.gmu.edu/udts/process> you must complete in order to graduate on time, and the other teaches you to use our Word template<https://library.gmu.edu/udts/resources#templates>.
* You can meet with us if you have questions or need technical assistance with our Word template. To set up a virtual meeting, please visit our LibCal Scheduler<https://gmu.libcal.com/appointments?u=6908>.
If you are planning to graduate in Fall 2021, please be aware of the following extremely important deadlines:
Fall 2021 Format Review Deadline: 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 29. In order to remain eligible to graduate in Fall 2021, you must receive an email from our office on or by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 29 stating that your formatting is correct, and your Format Review<https://library.gmu.edu/udts/process#step2> is over.
Fall 2021 Final Submission Deadline: 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 3. In order to remain eligible to graduate in Fall 2021, you must turn in the final copy of your thesis/dissertation and all necessary materials<https://library.gmu.edu/udts/process#step5> to our office on or by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 3. By "final copy," we are referring to the version of your document that fulfills all of the following criteria:
1. The document has passed the Format Review<https://library.gmu.edu/udts/process#step2>.
2. You have successfully defended (if a Defense is a requirement for your degree/discipline).
3. Your committee has approved the document's content.
If you have any questions or need any further information about UDTS and our services, please email us: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>. We look forward to working with you.
All the best,
Sally
