[cid:08df6c59-6e0d-48c9-b1db-58a46212986d]

The 2018 Leadership Mason Conference is a one-day program focusing on leadership skill development through large group and small workshop formats. Students enhance the leadership skills they already have while gaining new skills that will be beneficial both now and in the future. This year’s theme is YOUnited for Positive Change: Ethical Leadership and Understanding Our Intricate Identities. The conference will take place on Saturday, October 20th from 10:00am-4:30pm. Space is limited and we anticipate the conference reaching capacity this year, so please be sure to register before the deadline. You can register online at: http://lead.gmu.edu/leadershipmason/. Deadline to register is October 15th.

More information about the conference...

This year’s conference will allow for students to enhance and build upon their personal leadership skills and presence. Students will have an opportunity to engage with one another in a thought-provoking, interactive learning environment that will challenge students to think critically around various aspects of the social change model as it connects directly to ethical leadership, diversity, identity development, inclusion and equity, civic engagement and activism, and democracy. Students will have a chance to engage in learning that will focus specifically on areas of ethical leadership, understanding one’s own personal narrative and values, student advocacy, engagement, as well as systematic structures and policies that exist that impact the way we make decisions and the way we choose to lead.

We are very pleased to announce a NEW component to this year's conference. Participants will have an opportunity to join student networking groups called Mason Action Groups, focused around various issues of concern in our global society. Students will have a chance to select the action group they want to be a part of. Action groups may develop around a variety of issues our communities are currently facing.
