Hello,
I've been asked to put together a team of judges for National History
Day at the University of Maryland on June 10 or 11. I was on a team
that judged websites last year, and I found it to be a rewarding
experience both professionally and personally. There's usually a wide
variety of history professionals (teachers, museum curators, archivists)
there to judge on other panels, and it's fun to talk with young
historians and see the creative work they produce with new media. I
know there are other students in the PhD program working on new media
projects for minor fields and course work, so you would be uniquely
qualified to be judges for websites. I'm looking for two volunteers to
form a three judge team with me. If you would like to know more about
NHD, please visit the website: http://www.nhd.org/
Thanks,
Jordan Patty
