Fellow Students -

Below is a list of the events and activities that we have put together for the Ph.D history recruitment event going on Thursday and Friday. Please feel free to attend any and all of the events as a better turnout from you will help us woo these new potential students to choose Mason.

For those of you in colloquium who volunteered to help at some point during the 11 am to 3 pm time block on Thursday THIS IS THE LOCATION WE NEED YOU TO BE AT:

“Home Base”: SUB II, VIP 2

Thank you in advance for all your help, time and cooperation to make this event successful.

Here is the itinerary:

“Home Base”: SUB II, VIP 2, 10:30-6:00—Snacks and drinks will be there throughout the day.

Thursday 24 March
10 to a.m. to 11 a.m.: Campus Tour
	Meeting at the George Mason statue

11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Individual Meetings with Professors
	Each prospective student has individual meetings arranged with their potential advisors. When not 
at a one-on-one meeting, they will be at “Home Base” mingling with current Ph.D students and 
any faculty that wants to stop by and say hello.

3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Break / Check in at hotel (Mason Inn)

5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Faculty/Departmental Reception at "The Well" (Mason Inn)


Friday 25 March
10 a.m. to 11 a.m. CHNM Meet and Greet (Prof. Dan Cohen)
	Location: CHNM, Research I

11 a.m. to Noon Early Americanists’ panel discussion (Profs. Bristol, Kierner, Zagarri)
	Location: “Home Base”

Noon to 1 p.m. Lunch at South Side

1 p.m. to 2 p.m. GMU Libraries and Resources (George Oberle)
	Location: Johnson Center Library Instruction Room 228

2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. 19th Century professors’ panel discussion (Profs. Bottoms, Censer, Petrik )
	Location: “Home Base”

4 p.m. to 5 p.m. 20th Century professors’ panel discussion (Profs. Carton, Hamner, Schrag)
	Location: “Home Base”

6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dinner at Auld Shebeen
