Dear Mason community members,

During the Covid-19 pandemic, there has been an increase in identity theft cases nationally. Researchers at George Mason University and California State University San Bernardino are conducting an online study to understand student, faculty, and staff experiences of identity theft victimization. The purpose of this survey is to learn about the incidence of identity theft victimization, risk factors for identity theft victimization, reporting of identity theft victimization, and consequences of identity theft victimization among the campus community.

This research is being conducted by Dr. Yasemin Irvin-Erickson (GMU) and Dr. Nerea Marteache (CSUSB). This study has been approved by the Institutional Review Boards of GMU and CSUSB.

You can find a 2-minute intro to the research in the video below:

Your participation is greatly appreciated. Your responses will be completely anonymous (no information such as your name or date of birth will be recorded). This survey should take approximately 15 minutes of your time.

For each survey completed, we will donate $1 to the COVID-19 Student Emergency Support Fund at GMU and the Obershaw DEN at CSUSB, up to $1,000 per university.

If you are interested in participating in this study, you can complete the survey at the following link:
