Dear Students,
If you plan on graduating in the summer term, go ahead and file your
graduation application on Patriot Web <https://patriotweb.gmu.edu> now.
The deadline to file for summer graduation is March 18. Visit
http://registrar.gmu.edu/graduation/index.html for details. Master's
students only need to file the online application; Doctoral students
will have an additional paper application to fill out and submit to my
office. I can re-use a paper application from a previous term if you
will let me know that you have filed for summer.
Not sure if you will finish up that thesis or dissertation in spring ?
A good estimate is how far along you are on your writing -- You should
be finalizing your chapters now and submitting the drafts to your
committee members for their review. You should also have tentatively
scheduled the pre-defense and the public defense dates by the deadline
to file for summer - two weeks from now. But be sure to discuss your
progress with your committee chair in any case.
Bioinformatics students planning to graduate in spring will need to
participate in Student Research Day on Tuesday May 3, if you did not
already participate last semester. Please contact Tiffany Sandstrum
([log in to unmask]) for details.
If you have questions please let me know.
thank you,
Diane St. Germain
