The Department of Animal Sciences at the University of Maryland will be
hosting a national workshop titled "Domestic Large Animals as Models for
Agricultural and Biomedical Research" on March 21 and 22, 2013. Invited
speakers from 14 universities and other organizations will present their
research, including members of the National Academy of Sciences. Topics
include stem cell technologies, Genomics and Biotechnology, and models
of human disease, among others. These scientific presentations will be
followed by an open discussion led by national program leaders from the
NIFA, NIH, and NSF.
Registration is only $10, which covers two lunches and a reception.
